The generation of the baby boomers is getting ready to retire, but where will they all go? The answer to that depends on the needs and desires of the boomers themselves. Some destinations are chosen for the weather or maybe the availability to health care where others make their choice based on property values.
AARP magazine every year ranks retirement destinations under various criteria and so here is what they have come up with.
The number one location is Loveland Colorado and is seen at a retiree’s paradise. This is a town of just sixty thousand and has the small town feel with a view of the Rocky Mountains. Another destination for those liking the mild climate conditions is Las Cruces, New Mexico. This city offers low property taxes and many golf courses.
Rehoboth Beach, Delaware is for those who like the Delaware shore. In the summer there are dolphins off the coast and a mile long boardwalk with over seventy restaurants. It is an expensive town but has no sales tax on food and entertainment. Portland, Oregon draws retirees with its bohemian feel of its small town.
